Seaman’s Cowl

I finally completed the cowl I wanted to make for a gift for x-mas. It’s for a sailor and I wanted a felted cowl, sadly couldn’t find a pattern. So came up with my own. That is me in the photo and taking pics of yourself without being able to view the image, not so easy.

I used one skein of : Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in forest heather

Circular Needle size US 11

stitch marker

embroidery needle

Note: I wanted a little texture which doesn’t come out in my bad photo but is there you can   just knit all stitches if you prefer.

CO 73 stitches for in the round

mark beginning, K10,P2 until 10-11 inches wide.

Bind off. weave in ends and then its time to felt.

how the cowl looked before felting
