Pimps Corner: Saffira Jewlery

Saffira

As I mentioned in a previous post I was going to start bringing to light some of the cool people I know and their endeavors. A friend of mine who is a crazy crafty artistic goddess has a teenage daughter, Saffira. When she was younger she wanted to learn how to make friendship bracelets. Her mother taught her some basic jewelery making and that was the start of a thriving business of a young woman’s creative force.

I am in love with this piece...

I think the octopus appeals so much, because Saffira and I share a love of sailing. This past summer I had suggested to her mother, that she might enjoy an apprenticeship on the tall ships that were here. Her mother got her into the program and Saffira found a new passion. She completed the program and enjoyed sailing across Lake Michigan. She has expressed the desire to be a ship Captain, hopefully she will not give up her jewelry making for the high seas.

Saffira offers affordable unique items. Most are very small production of only a few of each piece. She also offers custom work as well.  So get those gifts before the holidays and support a young artist.

I was in the food biz for over 20 years and still love food more than ever. I knit, create, write, mother, date, live and get angry. All I share here and hopefully with some kick ass pics to boot.

nice article! i wish you’d shown some of her earrings, of which i have 3 pair and gave another to a friend. we love them! saffira has great imagination and can put together pieces to make something magical! and it’s nice to see a mother/daughter relationship and project flourish.

what does ‘pimps’ corner’ mean? first impression is not a positive one, unfortunately.
